If left untreated, gingivitis can lead to periodontitis, a serious form of gum disease that can cause receding gum line, tooth loss, or serious health complications. Deep teeth cleaning, also known as root planing and scaling, can treat gum disease.

You may suffer from nightly teeth grinding if you wake up in pain, with headaches, or stiffness in the jaw. Other signs of teeth grinding can include earaches, disrupted sleep, daytime tiredness, as well as damaged or worn-down teeth.
